Food For Preschool
Nut Free Policy
The Preschol has a nut-free policy. No peanut butter, nutella or nuts of any kind as we have children with severe allergies to these products.
Each child attending is asked to bring a round water bottle labelled with their name. The crates are then taken outside during play so that the children have access to them at all times. Teachers will mark on the sign in sheet if your child's waterbottle has been refilled.
These water bottles are for water only. Please fill the bottle with cold water or a mix of frozen and cold water.
A good nights sleep and nutritious breakfast helps children to cope with the adventures and fun to be had at preschool and helps your child to concentrate, problem solve, create and play well to get the most out of their day.
Nutrition Policy: Munch and Move
It is a requirement of the licence of the Preschool that we have a Nutrition Policy which meets the "dietary guidelines for Children and Adolescents". Certain foods don't meet these guidelines, such as chocolate of any kind, sweet biscuits, cakes, roll ups, muesli bars, rice bubble treats, oven baked fruit bars or dairy desserts (i.e. Yogo, Milo). Also high salt/fat biscuits such as "shapes" are not suitable. These foods will be sent home.
Dairy foods can be full cream however they recommend reduced fat for children over 2 years.
Please send a small frozen cold pack block in your child's lunchbox to keep their lunch/yoghurt etc fresh.
