Stronger communities are good for all. Like our children on their own learning journey, Dubbo and District Preschool continues its own journey in our determination to pursue quality education and improve practice. We learn from the past, live in the present and are building for the future. Our beliefs, based on theory and current research, inform our day to day practices to support children to grow into respectful functioning members of society, learning skills for life.
History
In 1962 the Lion's Club of Dubbo built the Dubbo and District Preschool Kindergarten on land given to them by the Dubbo City Council. The building has been added onto several times since to its present state. Dubbo and District Preschool is a community based non-profit organisation.
Licence
The Preschool is licenced, approved and funded by The Department of Education and Communities. The Centre is licenced for 100 children per session between the ages of 3 and 6 years of age. There are 5 classrooms of up to 20 children each.
Our Philosophy
Dubbo and District Preschool has been providing quality Early Childhood Education for over 50 years and we are proud of our rich history, tradition and connections with our families and the community. We value the wonder and excitement of children and recognise these early years as an opportunity for children to play, learn, create, imagine and enjoy. You can read through our Philosophy here.
